Pond Cleaning Sessions 2010
Dates

We have made some dates for pond cleaning sessions, we would like members to participate in this annual clean up to maintian the ponds and vegetation. Some garden tools may be of assistance namely spades, rakes and garden shears. Work will consist of removing weed growth hanging in the ponds, Path maintenance, Clearing pegs and banks and other work as deemed necessary by the committee present.

It would be nice to see some younger members joining in to give the 'older' members relief from aches and pains.

Pond cleaning is the first Saturday in the month Feb-Sept.

Pond descriptions
Winchesters

Winchester's

This is one of the first ponds that we acquired. It's rectangular in shape and we have nine pegs available on it. Being next to the road it is popular with members, it also holds a good mixed head of fish including: Mirror/Common and Crucian Carp, Tench, Bream, Ide, Roach and Perch. This water has limited pegs available for wheel chair users.

Rachel's

This is also one of our earliest ponds that we acquired.
The pond was de-silted in the eighties and in 2004 it was enlarged with an island added. This pond has thirteen pegs available with most being eleven metres to the island.A restocking programme has just finished making this a great match water for the members, strategic planting is underway which will enhance the water enormously. The water holds a good stock of Common/Ghost/Mirror Carp, Bream, Ide, Roach, Tench and some Perch. This water also has limited pegs available for wheel chair users.

Marshell's 3

Marshall's 3

A well stocked mature water at the side of the farm having seven pegs available. This water holds a good head of Carp of most species, Bream, Tench, Roach and Perch.

Marshall's 2

Marshell's 1

Marshall's 1

We acquired this water six years ago after it had been newly dug out. The water has matured very nicely with strategic planting and well positioned pegs of which there are fourteen.  This water has also been well stocked and holds a good variety of fish; these consist of Mirror/Common and Ghost Carp, Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Perch.
